UNTOUCHABLE

By Ulli Arendt, Volunteer Docent

You stand there elegant and sublime.

Marble is your substance

Cold and indifferent

Suave and glib to the touch.

Snow reflects your posture

Glistening in the frosty winter sun.

Two smooth lips ready for the kiss of your creator

Who does not want to part from you.

He puts his artistic touch on you

Thus making you untouchable,

Full of grace

Serene.

You imitate nature’s most basic yearnings:

Love

Creation

Life.
